Another in-game cutscene that Goodbye Kansas made for the new Destiny 2: Edge of Fate expansion.
Not the biggest contribution for this specific trailer. But I hopped on to model and lookdev Drifters Ship "The Derelict" and "The Haul" which is the mysterius comet like object dragged by The Derelict ship.
The lookdev for the Haul/Rock was very quite tricky to get right. First of all, it's absolutely massive in scale, so selling that was difficult. And then it also had a hard lava like crust mixed with refractive glass like elements. The inside of the "Haul" contained an emissive orb from which the light would originate from and then spread out through the refractive cracks of the Haul.
Drifters ship, the Derelict, we recieved from our client, and it was in full game topology. Most parts i kept triangalized, and modeled on top of it and changed out parts for higher res models where needed. I had to re-UV the entire ship with around 40 UDIMS so that I later on could redo all of the texuring in Painter and some parts procedurally in Vray/Houdini.
But then of course the FX department had to cover up my stuff with all of their much cooler FX elements ;-)
Thanks to Bungie and Goodbye Kansas!
